Three research studies recruiting now

Male participants needed to participate in a study examining experiences of social comparisons relating to the body. This study hopes to better understand what types of situations cause individuals to compare their bodies to others, and how people deal with these comparisons. Interested participants will engage in an informal one-on-one interview, for approximately 1-2 hours. Compensation: $20. View ad 

We are looking for healthy male participants between the ages of 18 and 50, have NOT sought medical care for muscular pain in the upper body in the past year, do NOT participate in sporting activities more than once/week, and have NOT performed resistance training of the upper body in the previous 6 months. Participation in the study involves two testing sessions, completion of questionnaires, performance of exercises designed to induce muscle soreness, and a lifting task. 1st language should be English and 2nd language, French (learned at least 3 years after English). Two 45-minute sessions are needed. First visit - in both the 1st (English) and the 2nd language (French), participants will write down the words that come to mind after reading specific words. Second visit (3 to 5 days later) - this procedure will be repeated, and participants will complete a language background form & a computer-based word recognition task.
